The “Giardino di Pietra” project, with the Medi Care cooperative as lead partner, centres on social farming as a way of supporting people with autism spectrum disorders.

Starting from individual care plans drawn up by professionals, participants took part in workshops based on social farming activities carried out at the premises of the partner companies.

The project helped build a network between the services, associations and cooperatives working on autism.

The Municipality of Scicli was one of the partners: many of the project activities took place there, as did the sensory exhibition, and an urban flower bed was inaugurated in the town. These events were set up and curated by the 27 participants in the project — a way of rounding off their journey and leaving a mark of their experience.
