NRRP – Tackling educational poverty
A piccoli passi…
Towards community welfare
“A piccoli passi…” also addresses educational poverty in Social and Health District no. 44, concentrating in particular on the Ragusa area, in the old town districts and in some outlying neighbourhoods.
Here the project starts from the need to counter the isolation of children and families and to create new opportunities for education and socialising.
The idea is to pilot permanent community welfare services, able to support children and their families at the same time and to help regenerate the area in educational terms.
The work starts from educational services for the 0-6 age group, but looks beyond the school setting, aiming to build networks, spaces and educational tools that can become an asset for the whole community.
Its objectives include strengthening governance against educational poverty, widening access to services for families at risk of social exclusion, and building an integrated, multidisciplinary and community-based educational system.
